Tutor Information

Welcome to the SU Tutor Registry
Struggling with your course work? Need assistance preparing for an exam? Your SU has developed a searchable database of independent tutors that are here to help you in a wide range of subjects.
The Tutors listed on the SU Tutor Registry are current or past students of the University of Calgary who provide independent services as Tutors.
The Tutors
The Tutors on the Tutor Registry are not employees, contractors or agents of the University of Calgary or the Students’ Union. The Tutors do not pay a fee to the U of C or the SU and are not monitored or overseen in their provision of tutoring services. The Tutor Registry is simply a resource that assists in connecting tutors with students that are seeking assistance.
We try to ensure that tutors are qualified by verifying that the following specific criteria are met before we approve them for inclusion on our searchable list:
- Must be at least a second year student
- Obtain an A- or higher in the course(s) they intend to tutor
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
The SU Tutor Registry standards are taken seriously and all applicants, regardless of their degree level are required to provide documentation that clearly shows that they have achieved a level of mastery in the courses they wish to tutor in.
The U of C and the SU make no representations or warranty as to the Tutor’s skills or qualifications beyond the above listed criteria. Tutors are not subjected to any character testing or criminal searches. Further suggestions and tips for hiring a tutor may be found under the Terms of Usage page.
