Undergrad Research Symposium

Deadline for abstracts has passed.

• POSTER GRANT

The 2011 Undergrad Research Symposium is over. We wish to thank all research participants and attendants to the poster presentation.

The 2011 Students’ Union Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) is an exciting and unique event which brings undergraduate researchers from across campus an opportunity to showcase their research accomplishments and celebrate the value of the undergraduate’s place in a research intensive institution. The centerpiece of the SU Undergraduate Research Symposium is a research poster competition and includes distributor displays, displays on a range of programs, resources, student groups and faculties that can get you actively involved in research.

The SU is currently calling for abstracts from interested students who have participated in research during their time at the University of Calgary. The majority of successful applicants will have the opportunity to give poster presentations during the symposium to showcase their work while a select few will have the opportunity to provide oral presentations. Students can access the abstract submission form and guidelines online at www.su.ucalgary.ca.

Research Symposium Awards

Adding to the excitement of the symposium, each year participants who present their research projects are eligible to receive a number of awards based on a variety of criteria. Awards range from $500 to $1,000 and recognize achievements in areas including social and environmental sustainability and  curricular honours research.
