Election Campaigning and Voting

It’s election season and we can see candidates and their posters all over the university campus. You may be confused as to how you can make an informed decision, or if you should vote.

Well, if you’re an undergraduate student, you should vote because the SU has made it very easy! All you have to do it log into your student centre account and vote between March 1 at 9 a.m. and March 3 at 4 p.m. There will also be polling stations on the university campus for those three days where you can go to cast your vote. See, simple. There’s no excuse not to do it.

Now to get informed. You should probably take a bit of time to figure out who to vote for so you make the best choice possible. All of the candidate platforms are on the SU website and many candidates have posted their personal websites and social media pages so you can get to know them better.

I highly recommend talking to the candidates if you see them about the campus, that’s why they are out there. They want to be talked to. So, understand what they want to do and make a strong decision that you believe represents you and what you want for the SU. This is where you get to make your voice heard.

Don’t let this great opportunity to allow your voice to be heard pass by.
