Election Fever and Voting Days

February 24, 2015  |   Found in Elections // News

Election fever is all around us and campaigning is in full swing! You may have already been approached by a student running in this year’s SU General Election looking for your support, and I’m sure you’ve seen campaign posters and banners around campus. Take a few minutes to talk to candidates about your needs as an undergraduate and don’t be afraid to ask questions to help you make an informed decision.

Then next week from March 3 to 5 make sure you vote! I can’t stress how easy it is. It only takes three minutes and because we vote online, you can literally do it from anywhere – your computer, your phone, while you’re on the bus, or even while you’re standing in that long line for coffee. We’ll also have polling stations set up around campus to make it really easy. You’ll have the opportunity to select who represents you and your needs to the SU and U of C for the 2015/16 academic year. The ballot will include choices for SU Executive positions, options for one or more students to represent your particular faculty, and your choice for who to represent you on the university’s Board of Governors.

Check out the candidate information ahead of time in the Gauntlet or on the SU website.

To help you make your decision, you can attend a forum every day this week at noon in the MSC South Courtyard. Here’s the schedule.

Talk to your candidates and don’t forget to vote next week! Join us at the Den on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to find out the results of your choices – I’ll see you there!

Jarett Henry,
SU President
