Meet the Puppies of Pet Therapy
Fridays are arguably the best weekday, but there’s about one Friday every month that’s a little bit friendlier and little bit furrier than the rest. I think you know what I’m talking about. Once a month our fluffy friends from PALS parade into That Empty Space for an afternoon of pets, pats, smiles, and laughs! Here are some of the friendly faces you can expect to see at Pet Therapy this semester:
Callie is a Golden Retriever who loves giving out hugs and kisses, especially in exchange for cuddles and a belly rub. When she’s not helping students de-stress at Pet Therapy, this active doggo enjoys playing fetch and is fascinated by treadmills.
If you were a fan of Norman Bridwell’s books and cartoon series, “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” when you were a kid, get ready for some serious nostalgia. Clifford the big red English Labrador Retriever is a 10 year old gentle giant that is sure to put a smile on your face. (Fun fact: Supposedly Norman Bridwell based his book series on his own dog who was neither big nor red. We have no doubt that he would be quite excited about Pet Therapy Clifford.)
When this sassy little Dachshund rolls into Pet Therapy in her personalized puppy stroller, you’ll be left without a doubt that this small doggo really is living her best life. What Phoebe lacks in size she makes up for in sweetness, and if you’re lucky she might even let you hold her!
This droopy doggo is an absolute sweetheart. As an 8 year old Basset Hound, Jelly has perfected the art of low riding counter surfing. She also responds to her nickname Jelly Belly, which is fitting given her love for belly rubs.
This Portuguese water pup is best known for his stylish haircut and goofy personality. After a hard day’s work of helping people de-stress, you can find Splash snoozing on his family’s dining room table.
This curly haired cutie is 2 year old Sheepdog x Poodle, more commonly referred to as a Sheep Doodle. Fergus also responds to his nickname, Fergalicious (but he ain’t promiscuous!) While he may be a grown up pupper with a full-time job helping people de-stress, Fergus is a puppy at heart who still enjoys chasing his own tail.
Rover is a very good boy who is described as “the best retriever ever” because he not only retrieves the ball, but will gently give it back to you. This 5 year old Australian Shepherd loves to be petted and is sure to turn your frown upside down.
Now that you’ve met the puppies through this blog post, get ready to meet them in person! You can catch all of these fluffy friends and more of their PALS at any of the Pet Therapy sessions happening in That Empty Space this semester.
