President’s Message: Sex and Taxes

February 2, 2015  |   Found in News // SU in the News

Welcome back to winter weather U of C students – this is your Students’ Union (SU) president with a quick update on everything you need to know for this month. I’ll keep it brief, but check the links if you want more info.

First up, let’s talk about Sex. Sex Week is a great opportunity to have all of your questions about sex, love, relationships and so much more answered. Starting today and throughout the week, the Students’ Union, Women’s Resource Centre, and the SU Wellness Centre team up to bring you a week full of workshops, forums and even a carnival this afternoon.  For all the details and schedules, check out our website. ]

If you’re one of the 15,000 students that are members of an SU club, the clubs awards and Eric Lahoda SU Memorial Scholarship applications are now open until Mar. 1. More information can be found on the Clubs Awards page. ]

Remember to take the SU’s Annual Survey and enter to win one of two hundred $10 vouchers to use in MacHall! We use the results of the survey to advocate in the best interests of students. Tell us what you like about the U of C and what needs improvement. Plus, this year’s survey is significantly shorter than it was last year! Take it now and tell a friend. ]

Lastly, start thinking about whether you’ll need help doing your taxes this year. Once again, the SU will offer its popular and free tax filing services to help you out. Near the end of the month, watch for more details on the Volunteer Tax Program opening Feb. 27, or for more information visit our website. ]

Have a great month and I’ll be in touch when we’re back from Reading Week.
