On campus, the SU engages with university administration and campus stakeholders in a variety of ways to ensure the student voice is well represented as decisions are made on issues that affect your education and university experience. Your elected officials hold seats on a number of university committees and groups including the University Board of Governors (BoG), the General Faculties Council (GFC) as well as committees from the Office of the Provost.
Section 124 of the Students’ Union by-laws state that the Executives and General Manager shall develop a strategic plan that will prioritize and influence the SU’s allocation of resources.
The Students’ Union is committed to transparency and accountability. Status reports are provided to the University of Calgary’s Board of Governors regularly. In addition, we publish an annual Report To The Community.
Your SU is proud of the way it manages your money. We maintain that we have one of the lowest fee for service/revenue ratios of any students’ association in the country. We continue to carefully manage our percentage of student fees to total operating revenue without compromising the value of services and programs we offer to undergraduate students.
